Online Booking Terms and Conditions

The Online Booking Terms and Conditions below apply from 1 March 2020.

Please read our Online Booking Terms and Conditions, as well as our General Terms, as you will be required to confirm that you have read and understood them before your booking is confirmed.

These guidelines will help you understand what you can expect from us and what we need from you to complete your booking successfully.

Taberna Real do Fado reserves the right to amend these Terms of Use at any time by publishing the changes on the Website. It is the User’s sole responsibility to check and comply with them whenever using the Website. Use of the Website after changes have been published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms of Use. If you do not agree with the changes or with the Terms of Use generally, you must immediately stop using the Website and the Services.

By accessing, using and downloading materials from the Website, the User agrees, on their own behalf and/or on behalf of the organisation they represent, to comply fully with these Terms of Use and warrants that they have the authority to act on behalf of that third party, where applicable.

APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms of Use, and the relationship between the User and Taberna Real do Fado under them, are governed by the applicable laws of the Portuguese Republic. The User and Taberna Real do Fado agree to submit any legal matters arising from these Terms of Use to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of PORTO, without prejudice to any applicable mandatory legal provisions. Notwithstanding the above, Taberna Real do Fado may seek interim measures, or equivalent urgent legal relief, in any jurisdiction.

BOOKINGS AND PAYMENTS

All bookings require a deposit of 30% of the total booking value. Alternatively, customers may benefit from a discount by paying for dinner in advance when booking online.

Payment may be made by bank transfer or Strype (Visa and Mastercard).

The invoice for the payment made will be issued on the day of the service, once the products have been entered into the billing system. If the customer requires an invoice bearing their Portuguese tax identification number (NIF/NIPC), they must request it at the end of dinner.

Dinner is always paid for at the end of the service. Customers may pay when making the booking or at the restaurant itself. On arrival, we will take your main course order (fish, meat or vegetarian). To speed up the process, please consult the menu and choose your main course beforehand.

Suggestion: the group organiser should collect payment from all members of the group and ask which main course they would like. If they choose meat, please also ask whether they prefer it well done, medium or rare.

TIMES AND SITTINGS

Customers must respect the previously announced start and finish times of each sitting to ensure the restaurant operates smoothly. Unforeseen circumstances do not justify delays that may affect the service provided to other customers.

CANCELLATIONS

Full or partial cancellations (a reduction in the number of people originally booked) must be requested by email, by replying to your original booking email.

Full cancellation: if notice of cancellation is received at least two days before the dinner date, two options will be offered: rescheduling dinner for another date agreed by both parties, to take place within one month, OR a refund of the amount paid as at the cancellation date.

Partial cancellation (a reduction in the number of people originally booked): if notice of cancellation is received at least two days before the dinner date, the amount paid per person being cancelled will be refunded.

If notice of a full or partial cancellation is received within the two days preceding the dinner date, 30% of the booking value will be retained. The same applies to bookings made within the two days preceding the dinner date (less than 48 hours) that are subsequently cancelled in full or in part.

The booking payment is non-refundable in the event of a no-show.

MINORS

The restaurant is intended for adults aged 18 and over. However, minors may dine provided they are accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, or by adults carrying written authorisation from the minor’s parents.

Children under the age of 12 are not admitted, even when accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

VISIBLY INTOXICATED CUSTOMERS

Customers who are visibly intoxicated on arrival may be refused entry to the restaurant. In such cases, payments already made when booking will not be refunded.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS

For privacy reasons, and because some customers do not wish to appear in other people’s photographs or videos, please avoid taking photographs or recording videos. If you do so, please limit this to your own table.

DRESS CODE

Smart casual attire is recommended: a coordinated and elegant look in terms of shades, colours, fabrics, footwear and accessories.

COMPLAINTS AND RESOLUTION

If you have a complaint, please let us know immediately.

If you do not inform us of your complaint, our ability to investigate and resolve the issue will be significantly impaired. For this reason, unless there are grounds preventing you from informing us, we do not accept responsibility for complaints that are not submitted to us by email at info@realfado.pt.
